These Course Settings are configured by the Super Admin of the owning institution โ€” read-only in Add from Catalog mode
Back to Catalog
๐Ÿ“ Spec notes โ€” UC-LMS.18 / SCR-LMS.06 โ€” Add from Catalog mode (fields, actions, requirements)
Identity
  • Screen: SCR-LMS.06 โ€” Course Admin Detail (Add from Catalog mode)
  • Use case: UC-LMS.18 โ€” Add Course from Catalog
  • Mode: Add from Catalog โ€” 2 tabs only (no Course Settings tab)
Brief description

SCR-LMS.06 in "Add from Catalog" mode. Opened after the User selects a course in SCR-LMS.51 (UC-LMS.18 M-4). Displays 2 tabs: Tab 1 Course Overview (read-only from approved CCM snapshot) and Tab 2 Manage Course Instructor (disabled until course is added). The User reviews the course overview then clicks "Add to Program".

Fields
  • active_tab โ€” enum [course_overview, instructor_management] ยท default: course_overview
  • course_title "Course Title" โ€” text ยท data_ref: Course.title ยท read-only ยท Tab 1
  • course_description "Description" โ€” textarea ยท data_ref: Course.description ยท read-only ยท Tab 1
  • course_objectives "Objectives" โ€” textarea ยท data_ref: Course.objectives ยท read-only ยท Tab 1
  • owner_instructor_name "Owner" โ€” computed from CourseInstructor where role=owner ยท read-only ยท Tab 1
Actions
  • switch_tab "(click Tab)" โ€” always enabled; Tab 2 Manage Course Instructor disabled until course added ยท triggers UC-LMS.01-M-3
  • add_to_program "Add to Program" โ€” enabled when mode == uc_lms_18 ยท triggers UC-LMS.18-M-6 โ†’ M-7 (upsert InstitutionCourse) โ†’ M-8 (return SCR-LMS.03)
  • back_to_catalog "Back to Catalog" โ€” always enabled ยท triggers UC-LMS.18-AF-6A โ†’ reopens SCR-LMS.51 dialog
Additional requirements
  1. Tab 1 Course Overview โ€” read-only in all modes; content sourced from approved CCM snapshot (SS-CCM.11) โ€” not the current draft [refs: SS-CCM.11]
  2. Tab 2 Manage Course Instructor (UC-LMS.01) โ€” disabled until Add to Program succeeds; open issue: hide entire Tab or show but lock functions
  3. A Course already added to the institution may be re-selected โ€” the existing link is identified; Add to Program acts as update instead of create
  4. Visibility scope โ€” Program Admin can access only courses within their active Working Institute; Super Admin can access all courses. Enforcement must be done server-side [refs: NFR-10]
โš  Open issues (UC-LMS.18)
  • InstitutionCourse entity not yet in entities.puml โ€” soft-link (deletable) vs hard-link (non-deletable if Enrollments exist) decision pending
  • is_shared flag not yet modeled in CCM โ€” location undecided (Course entity, CoursePublishRequest, or new CourseSharingPolicy entity)
  • Course from another institution that is unpublished/retired after being added โ€” behavior not yet defined
  • Tab 2 Manage Course Instructor in Add mode is disabled โ€” decide: hide entire Tab or display but lock functionality until Add is completed
